How MotionFrame Works

MotionFrame follows the same shape as any non-linear editor, just without the install. Here is the whole workflow, from a blank canvas to a finished video file.

1

Create a project

Pick a canvas size and frame rate, and MotionFrame sets up a timeline for you. You can choose a landscape, portrait or square format, and an export resolution to match.

2

Import media — or start blank

Drop in videos, images and audio from your device, or begin with nothing but the canvas and build the whole thing from text, numbers, shapes and lines. Imported media is read locally and never uploaded.

3

Add layers

Each piece of media, text, number, shape or line becomes its own layer with a start and end time. Reorder them to set what sits in front, and trim, split, hide or lock them as the story takes shape.

4

Animate using keyframes

Move the playhead, change a property such as position, scale, rotation or opacity, and MotionFrame records a keyframe. Add a second one later and the editor interpolates the motion in between, with the easing you choose for each key.

5

Preview

Scrub the timeline or hit play to check the timing. Preview, playback and export all share one rendering pipeline, so what you see on the canvas is exactly what will be written to the file.

6

Export

When it looks right, export an MP4 or WebM rendered on your own machine. MotionFrame offers only the formats your browser can actually encode, and the finished file downloads straight from the page.
